On a peaceful Thursday morning in Atlanta, Georgia, the life of 24-year-old Shanna Smith was tragically cut short in a hail of bullets. A Black female, Smith was on her way home from her overnight shift at an Amazon warehouse in Union City on August 4, 2016. In an act of kindness, she had given a coworker a ride home to Hadlock Street in the southwestern part of the city. After dropping off her colleague, Smith pulled away in her dark-colored BMW, unknowingly driving into a deadly ambush.
