On the evening of August 18, 2024, in the 900 block of Davisville Court in Hopewell, Virginia, officers responded to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival at approximately 7:55 p.m., they discovered 44-year-old Conell Gholson, known to many as 'Joe,' suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries. His death was the fourth homicide in the city of Hopewell that year.
