On August 9, 2024, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Richmond Police responded to a report of a person shot in the 1500 block of Treehaven Drive, located in the city's Southside. Upon arrival, officers discovered 24-year-old Benjamin Herman lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but succumbed to his wounds later that morning.
