On March 19, 2023, at approximately 1:30 a.m., 21-year-old Virginia Beach resident Detral Leron Dozier called 911, reporting that he had been shot. Emergency responders located him in the 4700 block of Marlwood Way, suffering from a gunshot wound. Dozier was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
