James Thompson, a 46-year-old man from Newport News, Virginia, was fatally shot in Hampton on January 23, 2023. The incident occurred near the intersection of West Pembroke Avenue and Parrish Avenue.
At approximately 5:54 a.m., the Hampton Police Division received a call regarding a trespassing complaint in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered Thompson lying near the roadway, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
