On September 18, 2024, 21-year-old Taylor Richards was fatally shot in a vacant lot on the 5000 block of Kensington Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri's Academy neighborhood. The incident, which occurred around 4:50 p.m., also resulted in the deaths of 21-year-old Qua’nell Robinson and 31-year-old William Person, and left a fourth victim, a 21-year-old man, injured with a gunshot wound to the arm.
Upon arrival, officers found an off-duty firefighter administering first aid to the victims.
