In the early hours of a Monday in Kansas City, Missouri, a call that initially reported a traffic accident quickly turned into a homicide investigation. Shortly after midnight on April 15, 2024, police were dispatched to the area of 23rd and Topping, where they discovered 29-year-old Nelson Omar Medina inside a vehicle, unresponsive. It was soon apparent that he was suffering from gunshot wounds.
