On the afternoon of October 24, 2023, tragedy struck in the Penrose neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Calvin Kelly, a 20-year-old Black male, was in the 4200 block of Shreve Avenue when he became involved in a heated argument with two other individuals outside a local market. The dispute escalated quickly, and just after 3 p.m., one of the individuals pulled out a firearm.
