On the evening of Sunday, October 1, 2023, tragedy struck in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Just after 9:30 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the 5700 block of Terry Avenue following alerts from the city’s ShotSpotter system, which detects gunfire. Upon arrival, first responders discovered a chaotic scene involving two victims who had been struck by gunfire.
