On the evening of July 22, 2023, emergency services in Raytown, Missouri, responded to what initially appeared to be a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 67th Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard. The call came in around 9:50 p.m., but upon arrival, officers discovered a more tragic scene. Inside one of the vehicles was 31-year-old Jeremiah Plowden of Kansas City, who was found to have sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
