On a summer evening in Overland, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri, 26-year-old Gersain Rugerio-Rodriguez, a male, was dropped off at his home on Baltimore Avenue by his co-workers. It was late on July 18, 2023, and he lingered in his driveway to smoke a cigarette. In a seemingly random act of violence, a gunman drove past, circled back, and opened fire, repeatedly shooting Rugerio-Rodriguez, who died at the scene.
