In early 2012, the disappearance of a 51-year-old, African-American male named Marvin Simmons from Atlanta, Georgia, ended in a tragic discovery. Simmons was last seen on January 6, 2012. A search for him ensued, and in late February, officers canvassing an area in southwest Atlanta happened upon a grim scene. Behind an abandoned house in the 1300 block of Wichita Drive, they found badly decomposed human remains.
