In the Penrose neighborhood of St. Louis, a burst of gunfire on a Wednesday evening shattered the life of Chanelle Cha Nelle Brooks. The 22-year-old woman was fatally shot shortly before 6:30 p.m. on February 15, 2023, in the 4800 block of Margaretta Avenue. Brooks, a resident of Sparta, Illinois, was found outside with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
