In the late evening of January 31, 2023, the life of 21-year-old Dmitri Carr, a Black/African American male, was cut short by gunfire in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. near the intersection of Brighton Avenue and 24th Street. Kansas City police officers were dispatched to the area following reports of a shooting.
