On January 7, 2023, 18-year-old Trinity Lavon Paige Vogel was fatally shot outside the Stoney Creek Hotel in Independence, Missouri. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. when hotel guests observed a group near their vehicle and confronted them, leading to a physical altercation.
