In the quiet village of Monticello, New York, the autumn of 2024 was shattered by a brutal act of violence that claimed the life of 42-year-old Jose Rodriguez, a Hispanic male resident. On October 5, 2024, Rodriguez was discovered deceased at a multifamily residence located at 20 Lakewood Avenue, prompting an immediate homicide investigation by the New York State Police in conjunction with the Village of Monticello Police Department and the Sullivan County District Attorney's Office.
