On April 10, 2023, a tragic incident occurred at the Burke Avenue and White Plains Road subway station in the Allerton neighborhood of the Bronx, New York. Kymani Woods, a 17-year-old male from the Bronx, was fatally shot during a gang-related brawl inside the station. Woods suffered gunshot wounds to his head, arm, and shoulder. Another 17-year-old was also injured in the incident, sustaining a gunshot wound to his hip.
