On February 10, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Durham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3800 block of Guess Road, near the intersection with Horton Road in Durham, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 53-year-old Gregory Wayne Headen suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot of a busy shopping center. Headen was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
