In the later hours of a Wednesday evening in Reading, Pennsylvania, the life of 21-year-old Ismael Ortiz-Rodriguez was tragically cut short. On September 4, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night in the vicinity of Oley and Mulberry Streets. When police officers arrived at the 600 block of Mulberry Street, they discovered Ortiz-Rodriguez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
