On August 3, 2024, 49-year-old Dana Burks was fatally shot in the doorway of his home on Amanda Avenue in Mount Oliver, Pennsylvania. First responders arrived around 12:30 p.m. and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The day before the shooting, police had responded to a violent domestic dispute at the same residence between Burks and his 21-year-old stepson, Rasheed Horne. During that altercation, Horne sustained facial injuries that required hospital treatment.
