On March 9, 2023, 30-year-old Jean Carlos Ortiz Rivera was fatally shot while sitting on the front porch of his home in the 900 block of Lehman Street in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The assailant approached Ortiz Rivera and his wife, Roseann, from a nearby alley, shouted a phrase in Spanish, and fired two shots from a 9mm handgun, striking Ortiz Rivera in the neck and chest. Despite immediate medical attention, his injuries were fatal.
