On October 6, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon in the 1300 block of West 97th Street, situated between Normandie Avenue and Budlong Avenue in the Westmont area, east of Inglewood. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 61-year-old Ronald Davis seated inside a white sedan parked in a residential driveway. He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
