On September 7, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., 22-year-old Alfonso Salgado was fatally shot in southeast Fresno, California. The incident occurred near the intersection of Cherry Avenue and Golden State Boulevard. Officers from the Southwest Policing District responded to reports of two individuals with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. Upon arrival, they found Salgado lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
