On July 7, 2024, 45-year-old Shaun Paul Griffith was fatally shot at his residence in the 13500 block of Bordeaux Court in Apple Valley, California. Deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department responded to the scene around 11:25 a.m., discovering Griffith with a gunshot wound. Family members and neighbors were administering medical aid upon their arrival. Despite further efforts by emergency personnel, Griffith was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The investigation led authorities to arrest 46-year-old April Green of Fullerton, identified as Griffith's ex-girlfriend. Detectives determined that Green had arrived at Griffith's home, where an altercation ensued, culminating in the shooting. Green fled the scene but was apprehended shortly thereafter near Apple Valley Road and Sitting Bull Road. She was taken into custody without incident and booked into the High Desert Detention Center on suspicion of murder, held without bail.
Griffith, a dedicated nurse, was well-regarded in the High Desert community for his compassionate care and commitment to his profession. He is survived by his two sons, Nicholas and Dominic. Family and friends remember him as a natural caretaker with a heart of gold, whose presence brought comfort and love to those around him.
