On the night of July 3, 2024, Scott Moore, a 58-year-old resident of Antioch, California, was fatally shot at a homeless encampment located on Vineyard Drive near East 18th Street. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m., when Antioch police responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Moore with multiple gunshot wounds.
