On June 27, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a fatal road rage incident occurred in Fontana, California, resulting in the death of 52-year-old resident Roger Albarran. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Albarran was driving his Honda Civic northbound on Etiwanda Avenue when he became involved in a confrontation with another motorist, identified as 28-year-old Abel Nunez-Alejandre from Eastvale, who was operating a GMC Yukon.
During the altercation, Nunez-Alejandre allegedly discharged a handgun at Albarran, striking him. The gunshot caused Albarran to lose control of his vehicle, which then collided with a parked car in the 14100 block of Arrow Route. Emergency responders found Albarran inside his vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound; he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following the incident, Nunez-Alejandre was apprehended by law enforcement officers and arrested on suspicion of murder. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and is being held without bail.
