On May 16, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 8300 block of South Denker Avenue, located in the Manchester Square area of South Los Angeles. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Kevin Carlos Villalpando suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene.
