On March 4, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., 35-year-old Mark Goode was fatally shot in the 15100 block of Vermont Avenue in Gardena, California. Officers from the Gardena Police Department responded to reports of a male down with a possible gunshot wound and discovered Goode with a gunshot wound to the torso. Despite efforts by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner identified the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest, classifying it as a homicide.
Mark Goode, affectionately known as "Goodie," was born on October 27, 1988, in Omaha, Nebraska. He developed a passion for skateboarding from a young age, dedicating countless hours to mastering the sport and eventually reaching a professional level with sponsorships from various companies. His love for skateboarding inspired many youths who looked up to him as a role model. Goode is remembered for his adventurous spirit, kind heart, and infectious desire to spread happiness and laughter. He is survived by his daughter, Anella DiGiacomo, and son, Aiden Goode.
In the wake of his tragic death, Goode's father, Cleveland Goode, organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses, emphasizing that Mark was not involved in any gang-related activity and was simply a skateboarder riding home when the incident occurred.
