On January 3, 2024, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Moraga Police responded to a welfare check request at a residence on Southard Court in Moraga, California. The call was made by an adult child who had been unable to contact their parents, Brad and Rebekah Triebsch. Upon arrival, officers were met by a concerned neighbor who also expressed inability to reach the couple. Entering the residence, police discovered the bodies of Brad, 60, and Rebekah, 59, both deceased from gunshot wounds.
The Contra Costa County Coroner's Office conducted autopsies, confirming that both individuals died as a result of gunshot wounds. Based on the evidence at the scene, authorities are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide. However, specific details regarding who was the perpetrator have not been disclosed.
