On June 21, 2023, at approximately 5 p.m., 45-year-old Kevin Keil was fatally shot on Alder Avenue in south Sacramento. Emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures; however, Keil was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, the incident may have stemmed from an argument or dispute. Loved ones at the scene indicated that Keil likely knew the suspect involved in the shooting.
