On the morning of June 8, 2023, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a shooting occurred near the intersection of Geneva and Lorena Avenues in southwest Fresno. Officers responding to a ShotSpotter activation found 43-year-old Ibrahim Muhammad and a 57-year-old woman with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where Muhammad succumbed to his injuries. The female victim was listed in critical but stable condition.
