On February 24, 2023, at approximately 5:43 p.m., Porterville Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting near Prospect Street and Henderson Avenue in Porterville, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Porterville resident Ruben Anthony Facio suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following an extensive investigation, detectives identified several suspects connected to Facio's murder. On March 21, 2023, at around 6:00 a.m., law enforcement agencies executed search warrants at multiple residences in Porterville and Visalia. During these operations, firearms, ammunition, and additional evidence were seized. One suspect, Robert Bradley, initially barricaded himself inside a residence on North Division Street but eventually surrendered peacefully after negotiations.
The operation resulted in the arrest of eleven individuals:
- **Robert Bradley, 22**: Charged with murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, gang enhancement, accessory after the fact, and an unrelated felony robbery warrant; held without bail.
- **Luis Moreno, 28**: Charged with murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, gang enhancement, accessory after the fact; held without bail.
- **Juan Bobadilla, 22**: Charged with murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, gang enhancement, accessory after the fact; held without bail.
- **Ashley Horton**: Charged with murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, gang enhancement, accessory after the fact; held without bail.
- **Ruben Pena, 22**: Charged with resisting arrest, felon in possession of a loaded firearm, felon in possession of ammunition; held on $35,000 bail.
- **Marcos Pena Sr., 48**: Charged with resisting arrest, felon in possession of a loaded firearm, felon in possession of ammunition; held on $35,000 bail.
- **Angelo Meza, 27**: Charged with felon in possession of a loaded firearm, felon in possession of ammunition; held on $35,000 bail.
- **Marcos Pena Jr., 21**: Charged with resisting arrest.
- **Jessica Hernandez, 48**: Charged with resisting arrest, felon in possession of a loaded firearm, felon in possession of ammunition; held on $35,000 bail.
- **Christafer Berumen, 25**: Arrested for three active warrants; cited and released with a promise to appear in court at a later date.
- **Male juvenile, 16**: Charged with possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm with obliterated serial numbers; booked at the Visalia Juvenile Detention Facility.
The arrests were the culmination of a collaborative effort among multiple law enforcement agencies, including SWAT teams from Porterville, Tulare, Visalia, and the Tulare County Sheriff's Office, as well as state and federal agencies.
