On the morning of August 31, 2024, at approximately 5:55 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting incident on Interstate 30 near North Westmoreland Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered that 23-year-old Jose Hernandez Marroquin had been shot by an unknown assailant while driving eastbound on I-30. Following the shooting, Marroquin's vehicle collided with a pole. He was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
