On August 4, 2024, at approximately 2:25 a.m., Houston police officers responded to an assault call at 6000 Elm Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 20-year-old Cesar Arturo Zavala Moreira unresponsive, with trauma to his head. Paramedics transported him to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences later determined that the cause of death was a gunshot wound.
