On August 27, 2023, in Godley, Texas, 66-year-old Leigh Ann Underwood was found deceased in her home from apparent shotgun wounds. Her husband, 73-year-old Gary Neal Underwood, was discovered unconscious at the scene with a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the chest; he passed away shortly after paramedics arrived.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check at the Underwoods' residence on County Road 1126 around 5 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies found Leigh Ann decease ...
