On August 5, 2023, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office responded to a call in the Woodlake Trails community on Golf Vista Boulevard in northeast Bexar County, where they discovered the body of 20-year-old Martin Jaquez-Martinez lying in the grass between two mobile homes. He had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators noted the absence of Jaquez-Martinez's vehicle, a white 2022 Toyota Tacoma, which was later found at a nearby school.
