On May 6, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting in the 3600 block of Legendary Lane, near Highway 67 and Polk Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 16-year-old Alexis Benitez Gonzalez suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Another individual, a female, sustained injuries in the incident; her wounds were reported as non-life-threatening.
