On February 3, 2023, 19-year-old David Noel Pleasant from Little Elm, Texas, was fatally shot near a playground in the 1600 block of Knight Trail. Responding to reports of a shooting around 1 p.m., Little Elm Police found Pleasant wounded; he was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the following morning.
