Leon, who had celebrated his 48th birthday just a week prior, was a father to two daughters, Isabel and Anabel, and son to his recently retired mother, Mary. His family described him as having a fun, silly spirit, with interests in UFOs, Bigfoot, and ice cream. In the wake of his death, they initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist with memorial expenses and support his daughters.
The Santa Ana Police Department has launched a homicide investigation into Leon's death. As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
