On the evening of Christmas Eve in 2024, a dispute in a New Haven, Connecticut neighborhood escalated to a fatal conclusion. Heriberto Cotto, a 43-year-old Hispanic male, was shot and killed following a heated argument. The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. in the vicinity of Edgewood Avenue and Beers Street. First responders arrived to find Cotto unresponsive with gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
