On December 24, 2024, at approximately 4 a.m., the Gainesville Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at an encampment near Dorsey Street in Gainesville, Georgia. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims: Ashley Marie Hill, a 37-year-old woman from Gainesville, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and Marcus Robinson, a 36-year-old man from Gainesville, who was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
