In the pre-dawn hours of March 17, 2022, a private car arrived at Yale New Haven Hospital carrying 33-year-old Brian Faulks, a Black/African American male who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite medical efforts, Faulks succumbed to his injuries, marking the city of New Haven, Connecticut's first homicide of the year. The incident that led to his death began around 3:29 a.m., when the hospital alerted police to the arrival of a shooting victim.
