On a cold February evening in 2022, the life of 34-year-old Jeffrey Hookz Acoff, a Black male from Hartford, Connecticut, was tragically cut short. In the late hours of Thursday, February 17, Hartford police were called to the 40 block of Earle Street after receiving a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, they discovered Acoff on the sidewalk, unresponsive. Emergency services rushed him to a nearby hospital, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
