On the evening of January 15, 2022, a young Black man named Herman Bellamy, 22, was shot and killed in Hamden, Connecticut. Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Fairview Avenue and Arch Street at approximately 10:45 p.m.. Upon arrival, they discovered Bellamy inside a vehicle in the roadway, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
