On a Tuesday morning in Hartford, Connecticut, the life of 32-year-old Desmond M. Wright, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On September 1, 2015, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Wright was shot once in the head on Pershing Street. He was rushed to St. Francis Hospital, but his injury was too severe, and he was pronounced deceased at 8:36 a.m. His death marked the 24th homicide in the city that year, occurring on the same day as another fatal shooting just hours earlier.
