On the morning of Thursday, March 26, 2015, Jose Araujo, a 30-year-old male, was diligently working at a construction site at the intersection of Chopsey Hill Road and Pond Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut. An immigrant from Cape Verde, he was an employee of Burns Construction Co., digging a ditch to support his family, which included his young son. His life was abruptly cut short in a seemingly random act of violence that morning.
