In the cold, early morning hours of February 7, 2015, the life of Mary Jane Townsend, a 48-year-old Black/African American female from New Haven, Connecticut, was tragically cut short. Just before 1:30 a.m., the sound of several gunshots echoed through the Hill section of the city, prompting a 911 call that would lead police to a grim discovery at the rear of a building on Second Street.
