On the night of May 16, 2012, Ashley “Miracle” Armstrong, a 20-year-old Black woman, was fatally shot in New Haven, Connecticut. Remembered for her bright smile and positive attitude, Ashley was a certified nursing assistant and a student at Naugatuck Valley Community College. On that particular evening, she was in New Haven visiting friends.
