On a late Saturday morning, August 22, 2020, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the life of 34-year-old Jonathan W.T. Buie, a Black / African American male known to some as "Miami," was tragically cut short. The fatal encounter unfolded around 10:43 a.m. outside a Wienerschnitzel restaurant near the intersection of 800 West and North Temple. Buie sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso and was rushed to the University Medical Center, where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.
