In the late morning of August 22, 2021, a disagreement between roommates in a Sioux City, Iowa, residence escalated into a fatal encounter. Jason Lafferty, a 41-year-old Caucasian male, was shot and killed in the home he shared with his acquaintance, Robert D. Buel.
